Saving Lives…<\/h1>\n

PAN’s Vegan Pledge programs help non-vegans go vegan, and each vegan spares the lives of approximately 100 land animals per year. \u00a0We can expand this reach by increasing the size of our existing programs and establishing new programs. \u00a0Volunteers willing to help in any of the following manners are needed:<\/strong>\u00a01) organizing new programs; 2) assisting with posting flyers; 3) online promotion; 4) staffing a table with information about veganism and the Vegan Pledge; and 5) mentoring and other in-person volunteering during the programs. \u00a0PAN also needs your help with the costs of the Vegan Pledge so that participation can be free to anyone interested in going vegan! \u00a0At an average of only $20 per participant, we think this is a reasonable amount to spend to save lives!<\/strong>\n\nYour $20 donation also gets you a PAN membership, which entitles you to discounts with various businesses. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\"\"\n\n\n

Next PAN Vegan Pledge in Washington, DC<\/h2>\nMeetings will be Saturdays, 2:00-5:00pm, starting on October 10, 2015 through November 7, 2015 at Budda B Yoga. The last meeting on the 7th will be from 12:00-2:00 at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary.

Almost 40 New Vegans in Philadelphia this Summer!<\/h2>\nPAN’s Vegan Pledge in July and August brought in nearly 40 new participants with record-breaking attendance. \u00a0These participants started out by learning about the intersection of veganism with other types of oppression. \u00a0Subsequent sessions covered nutrition, environmentalism, and other important topics, as well as impressive and delicious cooking demonstrations. \u00a0Participants reported that just as they were feeling overwhelmed by the changes they were making, they attended a meeting and were re-energized to continue on their vegan journey.

Britt H., our most skeptical participant told us she was hooked after the first meeting: \u00abI had so much fun and learned so much, \u00a0the speaker was phenomenal. He really made me think in a different way.\u00bb \u00a0

And Gino C. enjoyed the first meeting so much that he encouraged the most important person in his life to join as well: \u00abI had an amazing experience today with you and all of the folks at the meeting today. My wife is also interested in taking the pledge and attending future meetings, \u00a0is this still possible?\u00bb\n

Other Recent Events<\/h1>\nPAN’s Dara Lovitz, Leila Vaughan and Christopher-Sebastian McJetters were featured speakers at Vegstock 2015 in Millville, NJ in September. \u00a0PAN also had successful vegan information tables at Philly Green Fest and Radnor Fall Festival in September. \u00a0Stay tuned for more events this Fall and Winter.\u00a0\n
