The Power of Artistic Activism: Art in the Vegan Movement was an incredible panel discussion featuring four diverse artists–game developer and musician Natalie Asport, muralist Amy Burkman, composer Michael Harren, and film director Melanie Light–speaking about how they use their work as activism for Animal Rights.
The panel was moderated by Gina Renzi, director of Philadelphia Art and Culture space The Rotunda.
The event was preceded by a LIVE speed painting fundraiser by Amy Burkman.
Natalie Asport is an artist, video game developer, writer, musician, performer and lifelong activist whose work is influenced by real-world situations.
Amy Burkman is a professional muralist, live art entertainer, animal lover, and a cancer survivor who creates “Art with Heart.”
Michael Harren is a composer and performer who combines elements of classical composition with experimental electronics and storytelling.
Melanie Light is an activist and genre film writer/director who uses her filmmaking to tell powerful stories that both educate and entertain.
